Our handy hints for fabulous flowers

  1. Start from the centre, and work outwards
  2. Use florist tape (you can find this at most craft shops), masking tape, sellotape or a pipe cleaner to bind flower parts very tightly to your stem
  3. Bind and pull the tape very firmly and press and mould to shape with your fingers as you go. Make sure the tape makes good contact with the stem
  4. Secure each petal very firmly before moving on to the next
  5. When cutting out petals or leaves make sure you leave a tapered length of at least 1.5cm at the bottom for attaching them to the stem
