The rules

  1. You can enter as many crafty floral creations as you like.
  2. Online entries with the highest number of public votes, plus our favourite flowers made at the touring exhibition workshops, will help create the final shortlist of 50 flowers.
  3. The competition has been extended. It is open for entries and votes until midnight on 31 October 2010. Winners will be notified by 30 November 2010.

The prizes

Over 16

1st prize – Go down in botanical history with a beautiful new rose variety named after you. Your rose will be recorded in the world-wide register of rose names and you'll become a part of gardening history.

The winner will also receive:

  • A National Trust holiday cottage break worth £1000
  • 25 of their namesake roses to plant and some will even be planted in our gardens.
  • A money-can't-buy gardening master class with one of our green gardening gurus
  • A rare plant cultivated at our Knightshayes Plant Conservation Project
  • An annual family pass for one year's free admission to Trust places

Two runners up will each receive: an annual family pass for one year's free admission to National Trust places and exclusive greener gardening goody bags worth over £100

16 and under

1st prize – A larger than life version of the winning floral design will be commissioned by a professional artist, then "planted" at a National Trust place for everyone to enjoy.

  • You'll also win a one week National Trust holiday cottage break worth £1000 for you & your family
  • £500 worth of greener gardening equipment for your school
  • An annual family pass for free admission to National Trust places.
